I need to ask you a question about this VN, but before I do I want to be clear that I'm not asking this to be rude or confrontational at all. I just would like to know how invested you are in making this game a completed project. I'm considering becoming a Patreon supporter, since I really like this games art style and world setting, but first I would like to know how this game is going to run in the long term.
We, the TToF team, are tremendously invested in the game and make sure that fresh material is released every month. I can't guarantee how many more builds there will be or when the VN will conclude, but I can say that we are incredibly invested in it and have plans in place to ensure that we can deliver the tale we want to tell. This is a good start to the VN, it does need somesmall improvements though but first the art, it’s stunning. Whoever the artist is, you’ve done an amazing job. I’d suggest making a few more expressions, since some don’t match. The blurry BGs fit in well with this VN, so keep that. The writing is different compared to other VNs. It’s not highly professional like some VNs however I think it fits well. You may need to improve some words/sentences but for the most part it’s okay for what it is, plus English isn’t your first language so you did a pretty decent job. I do have a few questions though, mainly how long will this VN be? since the writing is very “straight to the point” so I wonder how long this VN will be. Overall, this VN has potential. A few changes needed to fix a few parts but overall I enjoyed it. Keep up the good work!
I'm... very confused. This seems to be more of a test of Ren'Py features than a game. There is one choice, which doesn't affect the plot in any way, and another instance of a choice menu with only one option. You imply that you intend to continue working on this, but did you intend to continue in the same manner you have already? If so, it's... not a game. Do you plan to add true options later, or rework the intro? If so, this preview is not particularly helpful for people to decide if they want to follow or not.
We originally were going to use another software other than Ren'Py so this first build is kind of a test. We do plan on adding more choices in the future that will lead to different outcomes of the story and yes, we would most likely rework this first initial build using feedback provided so thanks for it.
I feel like this is a good start even if some of it is lacking.
The biggest asset are the visuals. The art is quite good even though it clearly lacks some expressions for now, all those that are there currently are very well made. The unique BGs, although not matching too well with the character sprites, give off a dreamy vibe that helps with the project's uniqueness. Real kudos to the artist.
Unfortunately, the shoddiest part is the writing. It's amateurish at best and just overall unengaging. The amount of typos and lack of understanding of English writing really damper it further. The interactions are too direct so far, everything way "to the point."
Overall, this VN has potential, but attention, as it is, should go to the writing and editing.
We did have a professional writer, however he left the project and we were unable to find a new one so I just temporarily wrote the first build, it may not be the best due to English not being my first language. We will try to improve this going forward, thanks for playing.
